Acoustic artists Chris & Caleb bring a new taste of music to the stage. Chris Phillips and Caleb Smith offer a unique blend of talents that encourage people to desire a deeper connection with Christ. Their voices blend seamlessly over smooth piano melodies and catchy rhythms, resulting in a sound that is sure to garner fans of all ages. However, Chris Phillips, 20 and Caleb Smith, 24 are not in this for stardom. “We tend to stray away from being categorized as ‘entertainers’ or the ‘concert band’.” Their goal is more than to simply put on an excellent show – they strive to draw the listener into a state of participation and effectively lead them in worship. After creating music together for over four years, the duo hit the studio earlier this year to record their debut album “Reach Out”. It released on May 1, 2009 to the excitement of countless Christian music fans across the country, many of whom pre-ordered the record.

Chris & Caleb are beginning to tour the country even more avidly than before in support of “Reach Out”. As they do, they strive to maintain relevancy, authenticity and humility both in their music and daily interactions. They will continue to appear at rallies, church services, concerts, youth events, conferences and retreats.

Apart from working on their much anticipated debut album, Chris and Caleb travel while sharing Christ’s love through their humble harmonies and authentic hearts. Chris and Caleb also play at many events such as Disciple Now, See You At The Pole Rallies, youth rallies, church services, and a lot of other occasions.

Chris and Caleb first met at a local music store where Caleb was employed. Though Chris was pursuing a solo career and Caleb was leading worship at surrounding churches and youth events, their passion for people encountering Christ through music united their hearts. Their music focuses mainly on vocals and acoustic guitars as they seek to keep a natural, gentle sound that is inviting to all listeners. However, they have been known to play in “full band” settings while still keeping the worship mood alive.
